28 VCF Academy 11-a-side players represented national teams across Europe, Africa, America, and Asia
1 in every 7 eligible players was called up for international duty
The 2024/25 season has been a positive one for Valencia CF’s Academy in terms of both collective and individual performance. On the pitch, the 11-a-side teams celebrated major titles such as a treble for VCF Juvenil A in División de Honor, VCF Juvenil B’s triumph in Liga Nacional, and VCF Cadete A’s title in the Lliga Autonòmica. Meanwhile, VCF Femenino C and VCF Femenino D both finished runners-up in their respective leagues: Lliga À Punt Valenta and Group II of Primera Regional Valenta.
This collective success was matched by outstanding individual performances, as many players from the VCF Academy received international call-ups across various youth levels and senior teams in Europe, America, Africa, and Asia.
A total of 28 11-a-side players from the VCF Academy were called up by national teams, including Spain, Canada, Argentina, Morocco, Lithuania, Hungary, and the senior national teams of Costa Rica and the Philippines.
The number of internationals in the 2024/25 season increased from 26 to 28, marking another step forward for the VCF Academy.
1 IN EVERY 7 PLAYERS IS AN INTERNATIONAL
In relative terms, the figure is even more impressive: 1 in every 7 eligible players in the VCF Academy received an international call-up this season. These call-ups span youth national teams from U14 to U20, and even senior squads—further confirming the VCF Academy’s status as one of the top talent developers in Europe, currently ranked fourth by the CIES Football Observatory.
MADE IN ACADEMY – NOW FIRST TEAM NATIONALS
The total number of international players would be even higher if we included the four Valencia CF first-team players developed at the Academy who featured in the U21 EURO: Javi Guerra, Cristhian Mosquera, César Tárrega, and Diego López. All four progressed through VCF Mestalla to the senior team. Yarek Gasiorowski, also a product of the Academy, was recently called up by Spain U20.
